School Centenary Spelling Bee Marks Public Education
Harrisburg hosts a two day program in the Education Building marking the school centennial with a State championship spelling bee and an old-fashioned singing school. The event includes an historical sketch of free public schools and a signing of the Free School Act by Governor Wolf in 1838.
