Abe Buzzard Back Behind Bars After Chicken Thefts

Abe Buzzard, a famous Welsh mountain felon known for chicken thefts, is jailed again near West Chester after being arrested last Friday. Once reformed, he even performed evangelistic work at a United Brethren church, but plainclothes memory suggests a theft occurred after a sermon. He is 70, with a long criminal record, and the tale recounts his backward walk through snow to Masheim to avoid tracking, yet he was caught. The article also notes changes at the United Zion Home and a reminder that bills contracted after March 14 by J Heitler’s successor will not be paid, urging donations of bed clothing to the home, John Peiffer, general manager.
