Saturn Rings and Moons Reveal Patterned Orbits
Albert D. Watson notes in the Journal of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada that Saturn’s rings form a system in the plane of its moons. The outermost moon appears retrograde, while the rings span from 26,500 miles to 10,000 miles in width with a 1,000 mile gap before the outer ring. Saturn has ten moons, with Titan being the largest after our moon, and most inner moons display synchronous rotation with their primary.
