Natives of North Wales Held Religious Meetings Here

First Municipal Pool Offered to Lancaster Borough
B F Lutz a Lancaster business man once built a private pool in Luitz and now offers it to the borough at no cost. If accepted it would become Lancaster county’s first municipal bathing center capable of handling several hundred bathers. Severe electrical storm sweeps county causing fires and losses
An unusual electrical storm struck Sunday afternoon, bringing heavy rain in Lititz and toppling cherry trees on Cedar street. A barn near Rothsville burned after a lightning strike, eight steers and four mules perished, six steers saved, with extensive fire damage to grain, straw, hay and machinery. Losses range from 15,900 to 20,000, insurance minimal. Another barn burned at Browstown, about 6,000 loss, no insurance. Public playgrounds instructor R Taylor began duties Monday for a three month term. Children may not stay past seven PM. Taylor, physical director at F and M Academy in Lancaster, also teaches. He served as army fitness instructor during the war and ran a Linden Hall gym class for business men last winter. The playgrounds are free to all borough children.

Miss Anna Huber’s Honolulu visit to join sisters
Miss Anna Huber arrived from Honolulu last Saturday to visit her sisters Susan and Mrs. H E Grosh and brother Samuel. She left Hawaii May 5 and sailed to Los Angeles, then spent a month with her sisters in Banning, California. She plans to stay until about July 20 before returning. It is thirteen years since her first arrival in the Hawaiian Islands and she has not been back since. Miss Huber works with tubercular children in Honolulu.
