Snow Storm Cuts Attendance At Local Market Tables
At the Lutz market house last Saturday only a few farmers tables were filled as a snow storm kept some farmers away. Prices listed include dressed chickens from 1.25 to 2.25, cauliflower 25 to 35 cents a head, lettuce 10 to 15 cents, celery 10 to 15 cents per stalk, eggs 42 to 45 cents per dozen, and butter 55 cents per pound.

Man Overcome by Smoke at Lancaster Wood Company Fire
John Habecker of Lititz, 33, owner of the Lancaster Wood Company, was overcome by smoke while attempting to extinguish a fire that damaged two rooms of the frame plant at 340 W. Grant St. He was treated at St. Joseph's Hospital and discharged. Firemen tore down part of the ceiling to extinguish flames caused by an overheated pipe.
