Examination for Clerk Carrier at Local Post Office
A clerk carrier examination will be held at the local Post Office on March 19 to establish an eligible register for the office. Appointees may receive 1700 to 2100 dollars, 10 days sick leave per year, 15 days vacation, or 65 cents an hour as a substitute. Apply by March 5 at the Post Office. Snowbound County Roads Thwart Travel Till Sunday Night
A northeastern snowstorm shut county roads for days, with high winds and sleet hindering removal. About twenty five cars were abandoned between Lititz and Lancaster as autos crept along fields and trolley tracks. The steam line stayed open and trains ran, but papers did not arrive until six PM Sunday.
