Warwick House semi monthly sale drew many buyers with 142 pigs sold from 4.50 to 23.00 each. Eight chickens went for 0.80, 50 bags of four pounds of soup beans sold 0.42 to 0.53 each. Brooms priced 0.65 to 1.00, 24 sellers and 260 total sales recorded.

Sleigh Demolished In Runaway Near Rothville
A high-spirited horse on the Lititz and Rothville turnpike ran away last Saturday near Rome and Rothsville. William Stark Jr his wife and two children were thrown from the sleigh after it struck a stone wall near Charles Vollertsen’s home. Frank Bouder of Rothsville was knocked down but escaped with minor bruises. The sleigh was completely demolished and the occupants were shaken but unharmed. The Stark family then reached home with aid from Rothsville.

Lititz boys departed for Camp Meade with outfits funded by the society, while Mr. Abram Bucher writes from State Caljeze thanking the knit sweater gift. Society officers welcome more knit goods as more boys are likely to depart Lititz soon.

Death of Mrs Daniel Frank Near Lincoln
Mrs Daniel Frank died at her home near Lincoln on Saturday at 1.30 PM. Death resulted from a complication of diseases. She was 621 years old. She leaves her husband and two sisters Mrs David Herr of Neffs ville and Mrs John Adama of Lancaster. She was a daughter of the late George D Shreiner of Lititz. Funeral services were held at her home and then at Grayhill's meeting house in Penn township. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.

William Eichler of Lancaster Dies at 67
William Eichler a Lancaster resident and Lititz native died at his home on Thursday February 7 at age 67 after months of illness. He learned pretzel baking with his father and worked in several cities. He attended Lititz Academy and was a life long Moravian church member. Survived by wife Luean Reinhold Eichler and son John R. Funeral held Saturday with Lancaster cemetery interment.

Death of Jacob H Vogel 71 Dies at Lan Easter
Jacob H Vogel aged 71 died Sunday morning at his Lan Easter home after an eleven day illness from paralysis. Born December 22 1846 at Lititz he was a Civil War veteran and former farmer. Survived by wife Harriet Kissinger two sons Harry D of Lancaster Emanuel K of Enola brothers Elias and Emma Vogel and Mrs Martha Ulrich plus stepchildren Thomas Blacher Cyrus Blacher and Miss Elizabeth Blacher Funeral held Wednesday at his home with interment in Woodward Hill cemetery Lancaster.

Opening the Public Roads a Hard Task After Blizzard
The blizzard tied up traffic last week with heavy drifts along the Lititz and Lancaster turnpike between Kissel Hill and the Church of the Brethren Home. A large local force labored for days to clear a mile long stretch where snow was packed in 1 to 4 foot drifts, requiring plows and teams to loosen and move huge chunks to the roadside.
