Lancaster area notices report a Lan caster couple welcoming a daughter born February 1, a Lincoln birthday holiday closing banks on February 12, a post office parcel scale, church choir feeds and a new glee club forming, plus a serenade for newlyweds at Elkton and hail icy sidewalks prompting watch your step warnings.
The Pennsylvania Grit features Michael Keith of Lititz and his brother David C. Keith aged 75 as the oldest twins in Lancaster County. The A. & P. Store will be open every evening next week with wonderful specials offered.
Irvin Graybill reports he shot a large animal along his Stevens County farm fence after following it from his home. The carcass weighed 56 pounds and, after tanning, was identified as a coyote rather than a grey fox. Coyote or prairie wolf ranges widely in the western United States.
Lititz High School forms a band of sixty members in its first outdoor performance near the school house. The group, only a month old, rehearses marches and waltzes and plans to play at athletic events and summer concerts in the square.
A Valentine Party for mothers and babies is planned at the health center on Wednesday afternoon February 16 at 3 30. A full attendance is requested and new mothers are urged to attend with friends. Patronesses include Mrs Yoder Mrs Posey Mrs Snyder and Mrs Sammel. A community nurse and a doctor will attend as usual. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month.
Charles B. Adams of Lititz was among Lancaster City Schools mid year graduates and honor pupils. He delivered an oration titled The Revolt of Youth and ranked second in oratory with an overall sixth in a class of forty six after spending time in an operatic play and glee club. He is the son of Mr and Mrs E B Adams of 744 East Chestnut Street Lancaster.
The Edison Electric Company will remodel the 17 21 South Broad Street property. The brick front will unify two existing gas office buildings with two large display windows and a central door. Offices for the gas department and a cashier will be added.
Lititz Troop No. 2 shows an all boy made exhibit in Beck Bros store window featuring model ships miniature bridges fire making canvas shelters totem poles Indian pipes war bonnet knot work and more.
Miss Dorothy Jenkins of New York City spent the weekend with her mother Mrs Sara Jenkins. She is a teacher for Dr Damrosh and will assist in a broadcasting program at the Waldorf Astoria on the 16th of the month.
The Society of Farm Women No 1 met at Miss Anna Erb’s home on North Broad Street. Officers reviewed 1926 finances and discussed selling refreshments at farm sales. Members heard convention reports, enjoyed readings and music, and planned a March 5 meeting with a miscellaneous shower for Mrs Chester Hahecker. Twenty-eight members and visitors attended.
Birthdays for February include W. H. Regennas Henry Heiserman Eli L. Garber P. B. Bucher Hiram I. Holtzhouse and John McCloud. Hogs and livestock announced for sale at the Warwick House sale on Saturday.

Forty five members of the Young Men's Business League attended a smoker at headquarters last Friday. James Sturgis served as steward chef and waiter. The gathering included a social hour and a business meeting discussing plans for new furnishings painting and decorating of the League building and a decision to hold a smoker monthly.
FE. B. Habecker and W. E. Hickman have dissolved their partnership. Hickman withdraws from the Lititz Real Estate Exchange. Habecker continues at 13 South Broad Street. Hickman to open an office in the former Reist Landis buildings at the Square.
A son was born Tuesday to Mr and Mrs Herbert Weitzel at Lancaster General Hospital. The father works at the post office and is receiving congratulations. The mother and child are doing fine. He plans to write a short essay titled Fathers First Boy for publication.
Beulah M. Sturgis obtained a divorce from Chauncey M. Depew Sturgis for cruel treatment at the Lancaster Court. The couple lived here about five years ago. J. Nathan Buck, near Lititz, ordered to pay Katie L. Buck of Lancaster $2 weekly for the support of their infant child. Buck already under an order to support his wife.
The Women's Auxiliary schedules a sauer kraut supper in the Fire Co Hall on Saturday February 12. A tempting menu will be served and a good time promised to all who support this cause. Come and enjoy a square meal.
Mrs. Lester Furlow was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for examination yesterday. Miss Ruth Buckwalter was taken to Lancaster General Hospital last week for treatment or examination.
Complaints about the Lititz pike reached the Lancaster Automobile Club after the State took over the highway. State Highway Department heads promise repairs when funds become available. No funds now but some relief work has started. freeze thaw cycles worsen damage.
The annual Lititz Public Schools musicale opens this evening and continues tomorrow in the auditorium. Tickets remain for both performances as teachers have prepared costumes and decorations, promising a larger show than before. Admission is 35 cents.
High School Band instruments display at Farmers Bank postponed to February 18 and 19 due to Lincoln's birthday bank closures. Tickets for So This is London at the High School Auditorium February 17 cost 50 and 75 cents. The Moyers drug store chart opens February 14 with no pre-sale. Public school enrollment last month was 884 students with a 95 percent attendance.
Lititz High basketball team faces a strong Class A opponent on Saturday evening as the Ephrata Highball tossers travel to town. The county championship race in Class A hinges on this game. No game Friday night due to a musicale.
Jerre Carpenter a blacksmith from Millway collided with Harvey Miller’s Overland last Saturday afternoon in front of Brobst's Garage. The Miller car was damaged beyond repair and Carpenter agreed to buy another equally as good, the damaged car being a 1918 model.
Travelers near and far keep in touch as Lan caster residents visit Lititz and Denver, Philadelphia visitors spend weekends with local families, and nurses pursue licensure in Harrisburg. Notable moves include Miriam Russell joining U P Hospital in Philadelphia and Evelyn Dennis taking the State Board exam in nursing.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Keller hosted twenty three guests at their East Front Street home for Ruth Keller’s fourth birthday. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moon and child from Fleetwood, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Butter and daughter, Henry Leib, Miss Mamie Leib of Reading, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Leib and two daughters of Rothsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Elam Groff and son of Lititz.
Mr H R Gibbes will attend an executive committee meeting of the National Insurance Companies of Washington DC on Monday to arrange the national convention to be held there this year.
