Paul Badorf owned riding horse Bob who broke a leg on Sunday while ridden at a normal gait by caretaker Robert Kling. Kling dismounted after noticing trouble. the eleven year old horse, a local favorite, was euthanized the following day to prevent suffering.

Paper Truck Traffic From Eden Mill Clocks Five Tons Each Load
The town sees heavy paper deliveries from the Eden mill south of Lancaster. Each truck carries about twenty four rolls, six feet tall, weighing 450 to 500 pounds per roll, totaling around five tons per load. At Walton and Co wrapping plant the rolls are sliced into smaller rolls for distribution.
