Poultry Show Dominates Linden Hall In Lititz

The seventh annual Lancaster County Poultry, Pigeon and Pet Stock show fills Linden Hall gym with 1800 birds. Judges Cornman and Corey award prizes across 92 Light Brahmas and many other breeds, drawing visitors from near and far to honor Lititz association and banners. The week closes with ceremonies and rising town pride as birds shine.

Won at Madison Square Poultry Show in New York

W Pfautz exhibited re-blooded chickens at Madison Square Garden poultry show last week. His premiums included a golden penciled Hamburg cockerel and hen plus a 2d silver penciled Hamburg hen pullet. Pfautz defeated Richard of Canada the “Ham King.” A silver penciled Hamburg hen sold for $20. W Fasnacht displayed 10 game fowls and won three prizes.

Deaths and Obituary Notices in Local Borough

Death of three year old Mary Howard from membranous croup after a brief illness. Funeral held today with interment at Rothsville cemetery. John S. Kauffman, 68, died Friday at 1 P M in Hast Main street home after a week with pneumonia. He was a longtime Lititz resident, butcher by trade, active in Lancaster markets and local farming. Christmas Celebrations Warm Lititz Community

Christmas the great holiday was joyfully observed in Lititz with religious services and large crowds. Moravian church events featured elaborate decorations, music, and a Star message program by hundreds of Sunday-school scholars. Local residents and former citizens, including Philadelphians, joined families for meals and gifts, with many visitors and notices of well-wishers and travelers over the season.

St Pauls Lutheran Christmas Exercises Delight Church

St Pauls Lutheran held a Monday Christmas program titled From Realms of Glory by Sunday school with a large orchestra and spirited singing. The primary department performed well and Rev. Geo. D. Clarke told the Christmas story. scholars received prizes of candy and an orange.

Lyceum at the High School Honors Christmas Spirit

A large audience applauded the High School lyceum on Friday evening. The program featured music, recitations, and a debate on Christmas. Notable items included a Sophomore girls song The Lititz Suffragettes, and a debate on whether Christmas today does more harm than good. A dinner celebrated Sherman Chronister’s Philadelphia marriage. a home Christmas meal followed with a twenty seven pound turkey. A North Broad Street incident ending in a mother scolding and physical altercation drew attention.
