Benjamin Snavely and five companions hunted and shot four deer in a camp. three were killed on the first day. Frank Boucher of Millport returned with a deer and shared venison with friends on Sunday. A daughter named Floy Elizabeth Keller was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Keller on Wednesday afternoon. Lewis Simeax, suffering from carbuncles, is slowly recovering along the eastern end of Front Street. Ninety four bottles of milk are consumed daily by Lititz borough pupils. many children are underweight. The Health Center for Well Babies will hold a Christmas party at Moravian Chapel on December 21 at 8. Clement Badorf of East End is feeling better after walking up Broad Street. Train Crash Kills Lititz Youth in Carding Mill Crossing
Marshall Blantz 22 of Lititz died after a Reading Company train struck the sedan carrying him and three friends east of Lititz at Carding Mill crossing. Walter Strohm 17 and Elmer Strohm 21 were seriously injured. Walter Blantz 20 sustained head injuries but could walk. All four occupants were taken to Lancaster General Hospital. Blantz died minutes after extraction. The driver, Walter Strohm, is in serious condition with possible skull fracture and internal injuries. The incident was ruled purely accidental by deputy coroner Dr. M H Yoder.

Farm Land Sold At Public Sale Near Lititz and Kissel Hill
Two farm tracts were sold at public sale Tuesday as executor J W G Hershey handled the Hess estate. Eleven acres and 44 perches with a dwelling near Lititz brought 4010 dollars to David W Buckwalter. A 33 acre 99 perches tract with a tobacco shed near Kissel Hill sold for 126 dollars an acre to Rose Katie and Chi Hoeger.

Elmer E. Eby, grain and feed dealer, won a Common Pleas Court case against Charles J. Lebzelter of Lancaster for $141.50 plus interest. Eby claimed Leaman bought two tons of cottonseed meal at $50 per ton, unpaid. The defense argued statute of limitations but failed.

A Berks County sale drew visitors from Lititz to the Kling farm two miles north of Rohrersburg near the Blue Mountains. Live stock tools and household goods were sold due to the owner’s illness. Auctioneer kept the crowd cheerful with rapid talk and stories as Pennsylvania German predominated. The two story farm house showed crude construction with unplastered partitions and a plain drab interior.

Fire at Halfville butcher shop ends with roof damage
A kettle upset during lard rendering at Elmer Todds butcher shop in Halfville caused a fire that spread to a tin covered shingle roof. Lititz Fire Company arrived within ten minutes and extinguished the blaze with water and chemicals. The business will continue after a new roof is added.
