Conestoga Traction Company filed new fare schedules effective December 1st raising Lancaster city weekly passes from 1.10 to 1.55 and revising round trip and single ride rates as lines discontinue round trips.

Borough council hears committee reports in November meeting
At the November borough council meeting, Chief Burgess Badorf and councilmen Weber Rudy James Sturgis and Attorney Wissler attended. The street committee reported a new fountain standard and partial resurfacing of W Orange street, plus general street cleaning and new concrete piping. The water committee noted three taps and one meter installed, a new well valve, low water supply prompting conservation, and discussion of storage returned to the committee. A petition to keep the night police officer was presented and the officer was discontinued. Monthly bills were approved.

In Lititz plans unfold as Farmers National Bank and Lititz Springs National Bank mail out Christmas savings checks totaling 37 455 and 38 666 dollars respectively. Nationwide, more than 550 million dollars will be distributed this year with 213 million spent on Christmas purchases and 165 million invested or saved. 71 Acre Farm Sold Between Zartman's Mill and Brickerville
A 71 acre farm with 11 room frame house, bank barn, tobacco shed, corn barn and outbuildings between Zartman's Mill and Brickerville sold at public sale Saturday to Henry Weber for 5450 dollars. Art Show At School Displays 150 Masterpieces
More than 150 art masterpieces from French, American, Italian, English, Dutch, Spanish and German schools were shown Monday and Tuesday at the high school. The Colonial Art Exhibit hung reproductions along the first floor hall and drew attention from students, parents, and townspeople.
Two More Lititz Pretzel Houses to Get Rotary Ovens
William Kissinger and James Sturgis prepare to install Rotary ovens that will automate pretzel baking at Lititz houses. Haines and Sturgis expected to receive ovens by year’s start, with Kissinger to get the first unit. The large ovens reduce labor from ten workers to two, weighing sixty two tons and 19 feet across with a soap-stone floor keeping steady heat for ten hours daily.
