Will conduct poultry farming and related experiments on Kissel Hill. W H Muth secured an option on the Martin Farm and will form Kissel Manor Corporation with W Witaier Fas nacht and Theron McCampbell of New York City to pursue limited scale farming ventures.
The ninth Ludwig family reunion drew about 200 from nearby counties with lectures by Dr J Henry Ludwig and notes on Lititz founder Count Zinzendorf. The Kemper gathering brought some 300 attendees as G A Kemper listed 1700 Kemper descendants. The Lutz reunion hosted around 200 with a brief business meeting electing Tyan Brookmyer president and planning next year’s event for August at the Spring grounds.
On a Saturday night between 11 and 12 an intruder attempted to break into John H Tshudy's Front Street residence while the family was away visiting relatives. The thief pried open a kitchen door but fled when Walter Tshudy awoke, firing a warning shot. Stolen items include fifteen bushels of corn a straw cutter and other goods. Gen Little was jailed for public drunkenness and fined later.
Harry Rudy, catcher for New Holland, received a call from Curt Weigand, York Tri-state manager, offering to join York with a guaranteed salary at Reading on Monday. He declined the professional offer to stay home, though fans believe he would have thrived in fast company.
Annie Malschnee wife of Ambrose Malschnee died suddenly at home on Syruce Street on Saturday night at 11 45 heart failure suspected for a time. She was born Bauistie in Manheim township and married in 1869. Survived by husband four children Frank Lizzie Phares Sadie and a stepson Harry plus three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Tuesday with interment United Evangelical cemetery and church services conducted by Rev D S Stauffer.
Mrs Louisa Grostethon aged fifty nine died at her home near Clay from consumption. Survived by husband Fred erick Grostethon two children Mrs Mahlon Mohler of Ephrata and Martin of near Clay two sisters Mrs Groff Erb of Lancaster and Mrs John Bear of Lititz. Funeral from her late home Friday at 9 o clock with interment at Lincoln.
Mrs Emma Huber wife of Israel H Huber died at her home near Haltville Penn township last Saturday morning. She aged fifty five years and had suffered dropsy with a fatal stroke two weeks prior. She was born near Penryn and was long a member of White Oak Lutheran church. Surviving are her husband daughter Ella married to Israel Oberholtzer and several brothers and sisters. Funeral from her home with interment at Erb's meeting house led by Rev J W Bitner.
Paul Detwiler of Wrightsville died Sunday morning of heart failure after acute indigestion. He was eighty six, a widower, and survived by children including H. H. Shenk, Lancaster. Mrs Detwiler, Wrightsville. Enos, Quarryville. Phares, Quarryville. Mrs H D Denlinger, Strasburg. Tobias Shenk, Lititz, and Mrs Martin B Herr, New Danville. The funeral was held Tuesday with interment in New Providence Cemetery.
Mrs John Gibbet near Manheim died suddenly on Wednesday evening at 6. She was 188 years old and survived by three children Mrs Joseph Hornley of Penn township Clayton Manheim and John at home, a brother Jacob Dunbach Neffsville and a sister Mrs Maria Rhoades Roamm Ind. Funeral Saturday with services at 9 at the house and 9 30 at Kyeider's meeting house with interment to follow. She belonged to the Church of the Brethren and White Oak district ministers will officiate.
Mrs Susanna Muckle widow of Benjamin Muckle of Ephrata died before noon Sunday of catarrh of the stomach aged 79 years 9 months 8 days. Maiden name Stark raised near Neffsville resident of Ephrata 27 years. Husband died 28 years ago. Survived by five of eight children Albert Catharine Groff Rose Duck of Lancaster Obed Riverton Nebraska Ida Parr Reading. Four brothers and one sister Harry Stark Lititz Jacob Stark Manheim Martin Philip Neffsville Sophia Martzall Eph rata. Funeral Thursday afternoon Bethany Reformed church Ephrata with burial Bowman's Cemetery.
Emanuel R. Stark of East Cocalico died Tuesday at his Denver area home at age 61 years 4 months 19 days from apoplexy. He is survived by his wife Eliza and daughter Dora K. Stark, plus brothers Samuel Lititz William Ephrata Martin York and sister Susanna Andes Kansas. Funeral Friday from his late home with interment in Fairview cemetery Denver.
Helen R Kreider aged 6 months and 15 days daughter of Mr and Mrs Chauncey Kreider of Warwick died at 11 14 Wednesday morning from convulsions and bowels inflammation. The funeral will be Friday at 2 PM at the house with interment in Machpele cemetery the Rev Gee D Clarke officiating
Peter T. Singer 67 of Elizabeth township near Speedwell school house died after a wagon upset while being driven to Lime Rock for corn fuel. He suffered a skull fracture and internal injuries, never regained consciousness, and died at his home. Survived by wife, seven children and several siblings. funeral held at Church of the Brethren near Elm.
Miss Maud Dyer daughter of John K Dyer formerly of Lititz now Trekalee New Jersey eloped from her home on Saturday and wed Paul H Witman in Holy Trinity Lutheran church Wilmington Delaware the couple plan to reside in Philadelphia they met in Harrisburg about a year ago

Willis Gochnaur and Robert Baker were thrown from a wagon on the Ephrata Lincoln road when the horse bolted at a bridge over Cocalico Creek. Gochnaur required five stitches for a head wound. Baker suffered a badly bruised and swollen left cheek. The horse escaped but was captured later. In a separate incident Horace E Sturgis and Harry Whitcraft fell sixteen feet from a scaffold while carpentry work causing Sturgis a broken leg and torn ligaments. Whitcraft sustained severe bruises. Sturgis, tax collector, will collect borough taxes at his home on Main Street Thursday to Saturday and again next week at James O Sturgis’s residence.
