Rain swollen Wabash and White rivers ran above flood stage in southern Indiana as the Ohio rose toward a crest near 38.2 feet by Thursday. Ohio river levels reached 36.2 feet, forcing Union township farmers to abandon levee efforts and delaying corn planting by about a month.

Three youths plead guilty in car borrowing case near Linton
Three Linton CCC camp enrollees pleaded guilty to borrowing a car without permission and wrecking it on State Road 54. 7 000 Miners Return to Southern Pits
