Circus Bear Dies in State Accident
A Pennsylvania railroad passenger train collided with a circus truck near Warsaw Indiana killing a bear from Daily Bros. circus. Three people were injured including truck driver Verlin Keeling of Lima Ohio who was hospitalized with cuts and possible skull fracture. Engineer John S. Reineke and Fireman Harold Simmers from Fort Wayne treated and released for minor injuries. The Redbird train from Detroit to Chicago struck the truck at a grade crossing killing the circus bear.

The city of Linton Greene County Indiana will hold a 7:30 P M meeting on July 13 1948 at the city hall to consider an extra appropriation for repair and maintenance of streets and alleys amounting to 2833 41 dollars. Taxpayers may be heard. The final appropriation will go to the State Board of Tax Commissioners for a second hearing within fifteen days at Greene County Auditor's office or other designated place.
