Post Rate Change Effective July in Newspapers and Parcels
New postal rates from the post office will take effect July 1. Rates on some mail rise, others fall, under a law passed May 26. Newspapers and circulars see varied changes. parcel post zones 4 through 8 set higher rates, library books 8 cents first pound, mailing fees adjusted. Extra postage for shortpaid letters and an added 1 cent per ounce deficiency charge apply.

Jasonville Couples Wed at Indianapolis
Four local couples wed in Indianapolis after obtaining licenses in Spencer. Thelmaine Stultz and Lloyd Poe, both from Jasonville, married Friday and stayed at Lincoln hotel. The newlyweds expect to return home early this week.
