Also announced are a Thursday afternoon bridge, Baptist youth activities, Truth Seekers Sunday School and Elks Ladies bridge, plus a major Thursday concert program by local musicians led by Howard Lynn with a full schedule of marches and overtures.

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at Shelburn for Mrs Jennie Siner Beecher 85 who died Monday at her daughter Mrs Sam Morris home in Bankersburg Sullivan county. She was a lifelong resident and survived by three daughters and two sons with burial in Shelburn Little Silver cemetery.

Giovanni Sperandeo, lyric tenor with international reputation, will appear at 7:30 Sunday evening in a concert presented by the Linton Ministerial association at Linton Christian church. He will be accompanied at the piano by Mme Elsa Carl Sperandeo of Wisconsin. Critics praise his lyric tenor voice as rich, pure, and well trained with a wide range and expressive interpretation including Italian arias such as O del mio dolce ador and Little Mother of Mine.

Harrisburg. Gov. George H. Earle declared he was unqualifiedly in favor of Franklin D. Roosevelt as the Democratic nominee for President in 1940. He denied rumors he sought the White House and at a press conference alluded to the possibility of a third term, breaking longstanding precedent.
Eight Linton and nearby Indianapolis News carriers push to finish the 1937 circulation drive. The top eight contestants vie for a four day trip to Detroit and Windsor, Canada, with the winner to be announced after subscriptions are collected.
