Salvation Army Names New Commanding Officer in Linton
Captain Jerry E. Sword is appointed commanding officer at the Linton Salvation Army headquarters and will assume duties June 27 replacing Captain Shirley Younts who transfers to Union City. Sword, from Fort Wayne, has served as assistant in Bedford Mitchell and Terre Haute and is a Marshalltown Iowa native. He joined in 1962 and was commissioned in 1964 and will marry Lieut. Jeanette Evans on August 18 whose Evansville assignment will move to Linton after marriage. Captain Younts has served two years in Linton and worked on the Building program and as commander and is a member of the Linton Business and Professional Women's club.
