Carlisle farmer Roy Trimble died at 6 45 PM Friday in Arlington Virginia while visiting his son Charles W Trimble He was 63 and died of a heart attack He is survived by two sons James of Indianapolis and Charles at whose home he died one grandchild three brothers Homer Scott and Frank all of Carlisle and five sisters Eliza Jones Ella Cox Celesta Andrews Etta and Gay Trimble Funeral services are set for 2 00 PM Tuesday at Bethany church south of Pleasantville with burial in Trimble cemetery The body was moved to Homer Trimble's home in Carlisle rural route
Sullivan County Circuit Judge Norval K. Harris, accused of issuing a fraudulent check, sees two charges of embezzlement and forgery quashed by Special Judge George W. Long. Harris still faces trial June 29 on the $150 fraudulent check charge, with a separate contempt sentence date set by the state supreme court and a July 14 Indianapolis municipal court appearance for public intoxication.
United Press reports that nine people died in Indiana highway crashes over the weekend amid rain and cool temperatures. Fatalities included Maurice Pierce in Indianapolis and a Chicago family burned near Cedar Lake, plus deaths near Fort Wayne and Lafayette.
Maurice R. Pierce 37 of Indianapolis drowned Saturday while fishing at the Indianapolis Water Company reservoir after reportedly slipping from the bank. Survived by widow Betty Patrick Pierce and five sons Stephen Earl Robert Allen Maurice Jr Milton Pierce all of Indiana polis, daughter Mrs Paul Poland of Indianapolis, mother Mrs Ethel Pierce and brother Paul Pierce. Funeral at Robert W Stirling Funeral Home Indianapolis at 10 30 a m Wednesday DST. Burial Washington Park Cemetery Indianapolis.
An Air Force transport plane crashed on takeoff at Tinker Air Force Base today killing 1st Lieut Vert L Vick 30 of Sherrill Arkansas and critically injuring another service member. Vick served as assistant air operations officer of the 1856th Airways and Air Communications squadron and is survived by a widow and three children.
Vienna reports favorable talks for the release of Robert A. Vogeler, former LaGrange resident and ITT executive, sentenced to 15 years for espionage. U S Legation and Mrs Lucille Vogeler confirm ongoing diplomacy, with no confirmation of an imminent release.
John Ralph Hadley age 11 son of Mrs Fannie Swaby Hadley formerly of Linton drowned while swimming with a group of boys near his Wayne Arkansas home. Survived by mother two brothers Merlin and Joe and sister Cordin Jane. Born July 27 1938 in Linton. Father Chester Hadley died about ten years ago.
Ada Ernestine Boss daughter of J. A. Thompson of Sandborn earned the Master of Arts in education as part of the University of Denver June 10 graduation ceremony. The line of graduates included about 2500 students.
Elkhart Indiana junio 19 Henry M Randall 31 was buried up to his nose in a caved in well while digging a new well at his Dunlap home. Rescue workers freed him after nearly two hours and kept him alive with oxygen pumped through a garden hose. He was treated for shock and listed in fair condition at a hospital.

Funeral services for Melvin Nichols 74 of Scotland were held Sunday at the Scotland Methodist church with burial in Scotland cemetery. Born June 20 1876 in Martin County he spent his life in Scotland farming. Survived by nieces and nephews including Mrs. George Jean Bloomfield and Ray Nichols Scotland. Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home of Broomfield directed arrangements.
