Crown May Sell Famous Palace
London June 1 Black ingham Palace, home of Bagliffin's kings and queens for years, may be sold as a building site for 15 million dollars. Valuers studied the palace and its 40 acres, with part kept as public ground if sold to a City of London syndicate. Owing to neighborhood change, selling for building purposes was once considered by King George VI, who was amenable to the sale. Buckingham Palace now sits within a growing business center, surrounded by offices and premises. The palace has rarely been popular with royal occupants, from George III to Edward VIII, who lamented leaving Marlborough House.
