Injured young woman in Dugger auto crash

June 15 in Dugger Mrs. Har old Waymire 23 is hospitalized with serious head injuries after a Saturday night auto crash on State road 41 south of Paxton. She rode with her husband and her parents when their car collided with a vehicle driven by A. E. Webb of Oklahoma. Mrs. Waymire is the only injury, suffering deep cuts to the head and eye. Mrs. Webb was uninjured.

Indiana Fishing Season Opens Amid Record Angler Interest

One minute after midnight Central Standard Time on Monday marked the opening of Indiana's fishing season. An unusual hatch of game fish appeared across many waters as warm weather boosted activity. Thousands of licenses have been sold, with several counties reporting higher sales than last year and many senior residents receiving special 110 day licenses.

Linton Horseshoe Club Breaks Even

The Linton Horseshoe Club split a day of play at the local courts. Brecksmith of Terre Haute defeated them in the morning with 799 ringers and 1288 points to 766 ringers and 1279 points for Linton. In the afternoon West Terre Haute topped Linton with 970 ringers and 1666 points to 783 panel and 244 for Linton.

Boy Scouts Attend Bloomfield Rally

Boy Scouts and leaders from Linton attended a Greene County Flag Day rally in Bloomfield City Park over the weekend. Troop 55 won a first prize and a second prize despite not entering seven events due to uniforms. Troop 57 of Linton also earned a large share of honors. awards included an axe aid shield and a first kit prize by Psi Jota Xi sorority of Bloomfield.

Island City Social Roundup Ends Busy Weekend
