Opening of 1957 Linton Little League Draws 500 Fans
The 1957 Linton Little League baseball season opened with a round robin at High School park drawing about five hundred people. Three two inning games gave most players a chance to play before the official season start at 5 30 this evening and continued through the week. Jasonville Man Floyd Strait Found Dead at Home
The body of Floyd Strait aged 53 was found about 6:00 this morning at his home on the west edge of Jasonville by his brother John Strait. Death was attributed to natural causes after a period of ill health. Strait was born August 8, 1904 in Jasonville and survived by a son Jack Strait in the U S Air Force at Orlando, four brothers and four sisters. He’s to be buried at McClanahan Funeral Home in Jasonville with funeral arrangements not yet complete.

Motorcyclist Dies In Mishap Near Connersville
Connersville electrical contractor Pier ry Marcum, 36, died when his motorcycle ran off the road and hit a fence one mile north of Connersville Indiana. Passenger Bobby Gene Readnour, 15, was seriously injured and required surgery at Fayette Memorial Hospital after the crash. Witnesses said several motorcycles and scooters traveled together just before the incident, but only Marcum’s vehicle remained at the scene.
