Recreation Club Outing Planned at Shakamak State Park
The Linton recreation hiking club plans an all day trip to Shakamak State Park near Jasonville. Winning Exhibits Announced At Linton Park Doll Exhibit
Prize winners in the doll exhibit and contest held this week at the Linton City park were announced this morning. The Greene county WPA recreation department sponsored the event under Elza Martindale's supervision. Winners include Ruth Mathena for smallest doll, Emma Martindale for largest doll, a largest doll family of 16 dolls, a 100 year old doll awarded to Phyllis Goodson, and Peggy Bedwell for best dressed doll. Prizes were donated by the City park refreshment stand.

Matt Flynn Dies in Indianapolis After Illness
Former Greene County sheriff Matt Flynn died at 12 50 PM Monday in Methodist Hospital Indianapolis after a three week illness from pneumonia contracted from an injured lung. Born in Scotland Flynn spent most of his life in Koleen and was active in county politics including terms as sheriff from 1934 to 1936 and as township trustee and assessor. He leaves a wife Ida and siblings Ott Claude Flynn Bertha Cullison and his mother Alma Flynn. funeral will be at Walnut Grove church with burial beside the cemetery.

Funeral services for Jesse Powell who died Monday at Sullivan hospital will be at 2 PM Wednesday at the family home two miles west of Dugger on State Road 54. Powell, a construction foreman for Central Indiana Coal in Sullivan County and Browns Town, died of asthma.

Jonathan Koons Dies Near Dugger After Illness
Jonathan Koons, 68, died at his home south of Dugger after a short heart- disease illness. He moved to Sullivan County from Martinsville 43 years ago and belonged to Morris Chapel church. He was preceded in death by his wife 40 years ago and survived by two daughters Mrs Walter McGhee and Mrs Raymond Wolf, three nephews, and two nieces. Funeral services scheduled 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Morris Chapel church with Rev. Mr. McBride of Cass officiating. Burial in adjacent cemetery. body prepared at Aikin funeral home and to be returned to the McGhee residence tonight.
