Henry T. Mix retired mail carrier and father of Mrs. Hobart Cooper of Linton died at 9 45 Monday morning at the home of his son Melville in Edwardsport after a three week illness. He served briefly as driver of the Vincennes to Switz City Star Route and was born in Germany. He was 76 years old and survived by a large family including wife Lydia Begeman and 11 children. funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Edwardsport Baptist church with interment in Edwardsport cemetery.

Warehouse certificates and corn sealing will begin as early as permitted. Private banks will lend 50 cents per bushel with federal insurance, and the government has never lost money insuring Indiana corn loans.

Dr Porter Named 10 County Health Officer
Dr Carl M Porter of Jasonville was appointed Greene county health officer for the year starting Jan 1 by the county commissioners. He will replace Eva Young of Worthington who held the post. The appointment follows a state law requiring licensed physicians for health officers. Bids on trucks gravel road work hardware tar asphalt grader blades and printing were opened and referred for advisement with awards expected in two to three weeks. The Greene county council held first readings on special appropriations and announced Pete Hardisty of Marco as a new member to fill the vacancy caused by John L Smiths death. Hardisty was sworn in today.
