Christina White, 29, of route 2 Linton, was killed at 9:10 p.m. Sunday while walking along highway 59, two miles south of Linton. Police reports state she was walking south when she was struck.

Lyons Youth Hurt In County Mishap
Lyons 18 year old Terry Weber was injured in a late night crash on highway 45 three and a half miles west of Bloomfield. State Trooper C L Mcin tosh said the car left the road, crossed the ditch, became airborne 40 feet, rolled six times and landed on the top of the vehicle. Sullivan Man Killed While Hunting Saturday
A Sullivan man, Benny Wible, 47, was shot dead Saturday when his shotgun tangled in a fence wire during a hunting trip in western Sullivan County. His nephew, Gary Monroe, 15, found the body.

Plane Crash Over Connecticut: Pilot Dies Trying to Save Passengers
Capt. Charles J. White of Eastern Air Lines piloted a crippled constellation after a midair collision with a TWA Boeing 707 over North Salem New York near the Connecticut border. White guided 50 of 54 aboard to safety during a 10 minute struggle but perished in the wreckage on Hunt Mountain. The TWA jet with 58 aboard landed safely, its wing damaged. two on board the constellation died later. White was found aboard the burning aircraft and is believed to have died attempting to escape.

Two Charged in Auto Theft Here
Bruce Allen age 15 and Paul Cunningham age 25, both of Linton, were charged with vehicle taking by the Linton City Police. A used car was taken from Kramer’s Auto Sales around 2:30 am Saturday. Allen drove it to a Moose Lodge area, then handed the keys to Cunningham who drove it outside Linton and got stuck in a ditch. Police arrested them after they attempted to dig the car out. they were to appear in Circuit Court today.
