Berandene Twill submits society items for the Linton Daily Citizen. Entries from news clubs lodges parties churches and other groups are accepted for that day issue before 11 a m.
Mrs Henry Freund welcomed members of the Mt Mellick club to her home Friday for a social afternoon. The club decorated for Christmas and voted to buy Christmas seals and donate canned fruit to Freeman Greene County hospital. Mrs Leedham joined the club and Mrs Emma Humphreys will entertain at the next meeting in two weeks.
Sassafras P T A held its regular meeting at the school house with entertainment by Elaine Grey Tincher and Bruce Tin cher on piano. Emma Lou Wright and Elaine Grey sang, Hal Wright played harmonica, J F Tincher and sons performed, and a trio of Emma Lou, Wanda, and Cortene Wright sang. A Christmas program is planned for Friday, Dec 18.
Mrs Mae Corlett a West Linton resident married Oscar Auten of Eldorado Ill in a single ring ceremony at the First Baptist church parsonage in Harrisburg. The couple will reside at 2009 Mitchell street Eldorado Illinois.
Pleasantville Blue Streaks defeated Merom Beavers 24 to 18 on Merom court. They led early and were ahead 12 to 10 at halftime. The Little Streaks captured their fifth straight win by beating Merom B 14 to 11. Odon will bring two teams to Pleasantville for rematches.
Visitors from across Indiana will tour Burris school at Ball State Teachers College to study modern education. The theme Education is self-knowledge and rational self-direction will frame a symposium on What Kind of Schools Do We Want. Dr. L A Pittenger will welcome guests. demonstrations span elementary to high school. The student plan projects in a national self directed program.
Sunday school at 10 a.m. Primary at 6 p.m. Evening service at 7 p.m. Relief society at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Genealogical society at 7 p.m. Wednesday. In hall over Star Sup's 10¢ store. Public welcome, no offering.
The Musical Note club will meet at Miss Vivian Humphreys home on Fourth street northeast at p.m. today. A good attendance is requested.
The journalism class introduces a board of editors including Charles Dancan Harry Feery James Stethley and Warren Lash with Helen Tiseman remaining society editor and Wayne Martin as sports editor. Lois Freund leads typing staff while Lillian Gabbard heads the freshman sophomore and junior classes. The staff emphasizes starting typing earlier to publish news sooner and upholds Cleanliness as a key to character and citizenship.

E. church meets with Miss Marybelle Smith on North Main street at 7 p.m. Bay View club convenes at the Lin ton public library at 7 15 p.m. Metropolitan Lodge No.93 K of P gathers at the hall at 7 50 p.m. Chickateth Council of Pocahontas meets at Red Men hall at 7 p.m.

Glenburn Aid Society and Baptist Ladies Aid hold all day church meetings. Royal Neighbors gather at 7 50 p m. Unity Lodge No 637 meets 8 p m at Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge hosts at 7 p m. Linton Study Club convenes with Ms Ven Johnson at 2 p m.
The Grand theater opens tomorrow afternoon for a three day run of Ladies In Love a bitter sweet romance starring Janet Gaynor Loretta Young Constance Bennett and Simone Simon with Don Ameche Paul Lukas Tyrone Power and Alan Mowbray in the cast a star combined lineup for the engagement.
Thursday events include M E church choir at 7 p.m. Baptist and Christian choirs also at 7 p.m. Loyal Order of Moose 1434 meets at 7 30 p.m. American Legion Post gathers at home at 7 30 p.m. Hiawatha club meets all day at Red Men hall. Faith Temple Pythian Sisters at hall at 7 30 p.m.
Friday events include the American Legion Auxiliary membership dinner at the Legion Home at 7 p.m and the Quapaw Tribe No. 143 Improved Order of Red Men meeting at the hall at 16 p.m.
Laugh packed showcase opens tomorrow afternoon at the Sher-Ritz theater with stars Alice Faye Adolph Menjou Gregory Ratoff Ted Healy Patsy Kelley Michalen Whalen and the Ritz Brothers. Four new songs including Love Will Tell and When Did You Leave Heaven punctuate the nonstop humor and musical interludes.
A community notice announces an Encampment event at the hall tonight at 8 o clock. Ragle is listed as the host with location details unclear but the evening program is expected to proceed as scheduled.
