Funeral arrangements announced for Cpl Sam Clifford Pershing who died from wounds in World War II. His burial is planned in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by the Linton American Legion post. Pershing, born May 11 1920 near Linton, served with the 179th Infantry 49th Thunderbird division and was wounded during the Rome campaign. He is survived by his widow Mary Bernice Pershing of Indianapolis, his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Four Indiana coal miners paralyzed from work injuries will travel tomorrow from Terre Haute to Permanente Hospital Vallejo California for medical care. A B-17 Flying Fortress crashed two miles southeast of Topeka Air Force base during a routine training flight. Five of the seven crew members died. two survivors were hospitalized in fair condition. The aircraft went down on a farm and burst into flames. the cause was not known.
Police sealed off Havana as they hunted bandits who robbed the Bank of Canada in broad daylight yesterday, taking more than 500 900 Cuban pesos. Police Inspector Col. Antonio Diaz Baldequin said an arrest was expected within 24 hours, with 30 bystanders detained outside the bank.

Miss Iva Corbin aged 32 died at 8 50 p m Wednesday at her home two miles east of Odon after two months illness. Born near Newberry September 15 1913 she was the daughter of Thomas Irvin and Ethel Mae Waggoner Corbin. Survived by mother one sister Maude Johnson two brothers Earl of Odon Alvin of Solsbury four half brothers James T Mason Louis G Kansas City Frank M Detroit and John E Linton and one half sister Ollie Blackmore Scotland. Funeral at Scotland Methodist church Saturday at 2 p m with burial in Scotland cemetery Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield in charge.
Prayers of Rev P B Clayton for All Hallows Church in London were answered by Fort Worth friends. Steel needed to rebuild the bombed church after more than 1000 German bombs fell in World War II. Clayton found steel here but not enough. architects Joseph R Pelich and George Beggs helped locate the remaining supply.
