Squire Issues Annual Report On County Highways
Greene county highway superintendent David O. Squire submits his annual plan to the county commissioners at Bloomfield. He calls for dragging and grading roads, proper drainage, widening for auto traffic, clear warning signs at dangerous turns and crossings, county owned screening and crushing machinery, fall material distribution, and patrol road maintenance on a list of routes including Jasonville to Linton and Bloomfield to Owensburg. The proposal lists needed equipment costs and wage rates for teams, laborers, drivers, and road superintendents.
