Violence erupts as black student protests flare in Soweto

Fugitive Hart Charged With Girl Scout Murders

Gene Leroy Hart, a convicted rapist who escaped in 1973, was charged with one count of first degree murder in the June 13 Girl Scout slayings at Camp Scott near Locust Grove Oklahoma. He remained at large. District Attorney Sid Wise said the warrant covered a single murder count.
