Fantasticks Opens Weekend Encore A Family Night Event

The Amil Teller production of The Fantasticks continues at Encore Theatre for a second weekend. Thursday is family night with half-price tickets for children and students. Performances run Thursday through Sunday with additional shows December 2 3 and 4. directed by Jack Kissell with cast including Jerry Metcalf Elaine Wehr Dick Hurtt Rudy Schneidhorst Fritz Wolf Nancy Lotz George Dunster and Joe Fisher. Box office hours are 2 6 pm and 7 pm daily.

Bluffton College Choral Society Announces Messiah Soloists

The 69th Handel Messiah will be performed December 12 at 8 p.m. in Founders Hall directed by Prof. James Bixel. Soloists include soprano Mrs. William Grannis of Lima, and Mrs. James Ehrman of Bluffton. Tenor Carlton Eldridge, sighted-through Braille, and baritone Richard C. Schreiber of Chicago’s Greer Technical Institute will sing. Mrs. Doris Lora will accompany on harpsichord with a chamber orchestra.

Methodist Drive Nearing Its Goal

The Ohio Methodist Church’s campaign for 7 million dollars for higher education has reached 5,845,550 dollars, about 83.5 percent, officials announced. Rev. Dr. Raud Calkins of Kettering is general chairman of the statewide effort to fund Ohio colleges Wesley Foundations and scholarships.
