Bernard Riepenhoff 75 of Glandorf died at 1:20 pm Thursday after a 14 month illness. He was a farmer born February 19, 1891 in Glandorf to Andrew and Bernadine. Survived by wife Elizabeth seven daughters and four sons plus siblings and many grandchildren. Requiem High Mass at 9:30 am Monday at St. John’s Church with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at McCrate Funeral Home Ottawa after 4 pm Saturday.
Allen County Common Pleas Court prepared pre sentencing reports for Danny Lee Jewell who pleaded guilty Tuesday to receiving and concealing stolen goods. Judge Harnishleger released Jewell until sentencing.

Lena Teegardin 80 of Cairo died at 5 a m in Lima Convalescent Home after a long illness. Born August 14 1885 in Beaver Dam she was daughter of Joseph and Mary Amstutz. Survived by two sons William of Gomer and Charles of Lima 437 Bunyan, three daughters Mary Everett Columbus Grove Ruth Sheran 122 S Cable Martha Enslen 1403 Rice, 13 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and one sister Ida Sumney Toledo. Member Cairo United Church of Christ services 2 p m Sunday Rev Nolan Youngman officiating Westside Cemetery. Friends may call Harris Funeral Home after 7 this evening and until 1 30 p m Sunday when body will be taken to church.

U S Marines in a highland area about 200 miles north of Saigon pursued a rescue amid heavy fire as helicopters evacuated survivors from a camp along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Maj Clifford E. Rose said the assault showed enemy fire all around. Two of 11 choppers were downed and crews scrambled to safety as Gen Marion Cart noted a trap but the rescue continued.
