Mixed opening as trading slows before Easter weekend
New York stocks opened mixed in cautious trading ahead of a three day Easter break. Major markets will close Good Friday with narrow changes in most key stocks. Airlines and other glamour issues moved more, while Standard Oil New Jersey held at 78 1/8, Chrysler fell 1/2 to 51 2, Montgomery Ward rose 1/2 to 34 1/2 on lighter volume.
