On December 2, 1874 General Cary received 25500 dollars for a Main street lot used by the United States Government for post office purposes. A correspondent praised a pump ing method at the Farmer Club meeting. An enormous inflamed arm was treated with stewed pears renewed every minutes and a short turn produced a cure. The fever diminished and the inflamed bowels were cured by the same application.
