Temperance Celebration in Lima Honors Bible Gift

The Lima Temperance celebration on August 4 1847 featured Sewall Division No 21 Mercer Division No 75 and Kenton Division No MI with Young Ladies presenting a Bible to the Temperance cause. Speakers including Rev Thomas and Rev M L Srana framed the event around purity faith and the temperance reform, praising women and urging continued work. The crowd gathered at the Presbyterian Church with Lima Band and local trustees commended for support and the press urged publication of the proceedings.
