An advertisement proclaims a patent remedy curing cholera cholera and fever all kinds, itching sores and scurvy, nervous headaches, uterine diseases, cancer, jaundice, smallpox, and many other afflictions. It lists various symptoms and claims, then notes sale at New Drug Store by Howard and Sanford as authorized agents in Lime Ohio.
An 19th century advertisement touts Vaughn's Vegetable Lithographic Muxwie as a universal remedy. It claims cures for nervous complaints, kidney weakness, and irritable conditions, warns against inferior tonics, cites pamphlets with cures, and lists dispensing agents and prices.
