Inter-Community Chautauqua Entertainments Impress Large Crowd
The second night featured St Brigid church groups performing a minstrel show to loud applause. Pleasant View church offered The Deacon Entangled while Richfield presented The 18 Carat Book. Richfield teachers starred, with Hamm and a Quincy brass quartet between acts. The Midnight Serenaders headlined Friday with Gail Osborne and George Moody. Fiddlers carnival Saturday brought eight groups despite rain, ending with Uncle Dick Johnson. Paxton of Golden spoke on Adams County taxes, followed by Depend On Me by Burton Community Club. The Rose Maden cantata closed with Mrs. Maud Luc and chorus.

Death of local farmer Charles A Gieker near Kingston
Charles A. Gieker a long time neighborhood farmer died at his home three miles northeast of here Friday at 6 15 pm after a nine month illness. He was born December 30 1866 near Kingston and married Martha Jellmer June 17 1897. Surviving are his widow a son Floyd of Liberty a granddaughter Dorothy and brothers Will Barry Richard Baylis and Frank Clayton. A daughter Ada died in 1913. He was a Methodist and a Modern Woodmen member. Funeral at his home Sunday at 2 pm with Rev Howard R Kunkle officiating. Interment Walker cemetery.

The Women’s Missionary Society will meet Thursday at 2 30 p m at the church. The Church School starts Sunday at 9 45 due to the Holy Communion service. The Service begins promptly at 10 45 with Confession and Absolution. Evening worship is scheduled for 7 30 Sunday.

Class Enjoys Outing at Mississippi Camp
The Young People's Class of a Christian church plus friends drove to a Mississippi camp Friday. They spent the morning motor boating and rowing, had fried chicken ice cream and cake at noon, then swam and boated in the afternoon and roasted wieners by a camp fire. Chaperons were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Kline and Mrs. Nellie Mercer and Mrs. Gertrude Pond.
