St Brigid Church Picnic At Liberty Park August 23

The St. Brigid church annual picnic runs Wednesday afternoon and evening at Liberty Park. The ladies will serve a supper from 4 o'clock, with refreshments and amusements for all ages. Liberty Band starts music at 5, a Taxpayers League speaker will speak, and a platform dance follows.

68th Picnic Brings record crowds to Union Sunday School event

The 68th annual Union Sunday School picnic was a sunny homecoming day with 5000 to 6000 attendees. Activities included dolls and pet parades, contests, a loud speaker system, and music by the Liberty band and a girls chorus. Receipts totaled 377 dollars as fried chicken stands drew steady crowds. prize winners are listed in another column.

At Zion Church six children were baptized in the morning service Sylvester Delbert Cordell Floyd Diehl Betty Lou Taylor Donald Eugene Potter and Ronald Max Henderson.
