The Bee introduces a larger, clearer news type replacing the battered 40 to 50 year old font. The old type, used on the Quincy Optic for years, was bought 21 years ago and is now retired. The new type is unused and dedicated to the communities served.

Ada B Lohse died at home Monday at 3 am after a long illness. Born May 10 1879 she was 54. Survived by husband H A Lohse mother foster daughter Eileen sister Jessie. Funeral at Pleasant Grove 2 pm Wednesday. burial Greenmount. Mrs John Daniels death notice reports at St Brigid church with burial later. Wife of Dr John Daniels veterinarian of Perry died after peritonitis from appendicitis several days earlier. Daughter of Fred Diker born Richfield township about 50 years ago. Married to Dr John Daniels about 15 years ago. survived by mother and three sisters Abner Larimore Mae Eddingfield and Dunlap Rice.

Three Missouri college students en route to Chicago World’s Fair veered from Route 105 after a bee entered the car near Quincy. The driver swerved, the vehicle left the road and struck a ditch. One student suffered a neck injury and paralysis, another sustained a broken shoulder. They received aid from Dr. Snider in Coatsburg and were moved to a Quincy hospital.
The Liberty Business Men's Association held its July meeting to confirm inter community chautauqua dates for Liberty the last four days in August and the first three days in September. They will solicit bids for refreshments concessions and reviewed Rooster Day expenses. John S. Ahern and Chelsea Cissna of Quincy proposed Liberty join the Tally Ho in Quincy in September, but the entertainment committee declined citing Liberty's summer and fall program. The issue remains open for further light.

George Chain and Mr and Mrs Charles Norcross and their baby spent Sunday with Mrs Minnie Linn. They were accompanied home by Mrs Chain and their children.
