Jailed trio escape from county jail by sawing bars
Three enslaved men escaped the county jail Saturday night by sawing through steel bars guarding an east window with a jig saw obtained from an outsider. The escapees were Tom Jordon, Sam Butler, and Le Wilson. Jordon had killed Mayforkuff in April. The men left a note indicating where the saw could be found and that they planned to depart on the 23rd. In sports, Lexington Athletics defeated Richmond Athletics 2 to 0 as Harding, Campbell, Mason and Schumacher contributed, with a failed steal attempt and a key error aiding the Lexington rally.

Former Citizen Flynt Brought Here For Burial
The remains of Arthur Flynt, who died October 19 in Shreveport Louisiana, were brought to Lexington Friday for burial. He was born in Lexington fifty years ago, son of Mrs. James M. Flynt and uncle to Mrs. John Kbman Sr. He is survived by his wife Lillian Flynt and mother Mrs. Janes Clayton. The funeral was held Friday at 3 from the home of W. De Wernwage.
