Fatal accident near Laning Harris mine report

A fatal collision occurred Sunday at 8:45 am when a Ford touring car was struck by a Missouri Pacific engine near the Laning Harris mine. Seven month old baby of Mrs Ed Buellens died. Chester Bellen dine of Richmond was driving with family and others aboard, including John Shipley. Injured were taken to Kansas City. one passenger, Mr Shipley, not hospitalized.

Local suit awards five thousand dollars damages

The case of Aaron Daughter ly versus Laning Harris Coal and Grain Co. was tried on Tuesday. The defendant did not appear, the plaintiff waived a jury, and after the plaintiff presented evidence the court awarded $5,000 to the plaintiff.
