Wedding of Miss Ireland in Lexington Gains City Pageant
Saturday evening May 11 saw the marriage of Miss Anne Ireland to Dr. E C Idon with Dr A J Chalkley officiating in Lexington. The ceremony included bridesmaids and flower girls, a Mendelssohn and Grieg music program, and a reception after the ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs B R Ireland, wore a veil with lilies and carried Easter lilies. the groom, a former Wentworth Military Academy science teacher, has a medical practice in Norton Virginia. The couple visited St Louis on the way to their Virginia home, with many guests from across Kansas City, Detroit, Chicago and St Louis attending. Commencement calendars for Wentworth Academy and public schools are listed, followed by a baseball recap where Wentworth beat the Elks 10 to 8.

Death of young farmer Edward Hosteld at home
Edward Hosteld died Saturday at 11 o'clock at his parents home south of town at age 22 after an extended illness from consumption. He assisted his father on the home farm and had several siblings, with services held Monday at 2 pm conducted by Rev. Mansfield. Surviving relatives include Mrs Wetleyman of Los Angeles, Mrs Annie L Stephenson of Slater, and John Hoafeld of Alaska, along with his parents and one brother.

Campbell's Opening Night at Amusement Hall
Weather did not deter a fair crowd for Campbell's Amusement Hall opening program featuring moving pictures and illustrated songs. Mrs Jas N Price sang less strongly due to recent ideas, with Jesse Warder operating the picture machine and Ben Price on piano. Wentworth Loses Again as Normalities sweep cadets 9 to 1 in Wentworth campus baseball, Poor fielding and batting by locals noted. Toomay and Tanner, Davis and Taylor handled batteries with Umpire Malott.

Death of Joseph Moore at Twenty Fourth and Maio Street
Joseph Moore died Friday night May 10 at 10:30 at his parents home, age 24. He had worked in a Kansas City barber shop and fell ill last Wednesday, remaining unconscious since. He is survived by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and was married. Funeral Sunday at 2:30 from the residence with President A F Smith conducting. interment at Machpelah.

Post Office Sets Special Delivery Stamp Rule
Washington May UW reports that after July first no extra postage stamps are needed for special delivery as the Postmaster General Meyer issues an order. Any letter or package with ten cents worth of stamps bearing the words special delivery will be handled as if it had a special delivery stamp in addition to regular postage.
