R B Berrie Dies Sudden In Lexington Contractor
Prominent Lexington contractor and Lexington Brick Company secretary Robert B. Berrie dies after heart disease attack at 10:30 p.m. Born Sept 16, 1854 in Lexington he built many local structures and leaves wife Jennie Chandler and five children. Funeral plans not announced. Also Mary mourns George Aull youngest son of William and Mrs. Aull who died suddenly at Bell Memorial hospital in Rosedale Kansas at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. George, a Westminster College student and athlete, aged about 24, is survived by parents two sisters and two brothers. Funeral held at home yesterday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. R L Cowan.

Deputies Detain Hawkins Group After Dance Disturbance
Deputy Sheriffs John Toner and William Kelley went to Dover after Tim and Carter Hawkins and Willie Stanford, colored, who had disturbed the peace and dignity of the state at a Saturday night dance. They were taken to Hodge where a justice assessed them five dollars and costs each. Unable to pay, they were brought to Lexington to be fed at county expense.

Touch Walsh Visiting Pitcher Leads 5-2 Win
The Western Reference and Bond Association baseball team of Kansas City defeated the home boys 5 to 2. Walsh allowed six safeties with 16 strikeouts for the Athletics, while Stevens hit a two run homer and Mackie scored after a round to second. Protective and Civic League met, adopting by laws and raising funds for the Surgical Dressing Committee, with a survey planned for Lexington vacant land and a drill committee named. The meeting adjourned to May 15 at 8 o’clock.

Willis Miller Murdered Near Home in Nederland
Willis Miller, nephew of Prosecuting Attorney Clarence Vivian, was shot and killed near his Nederland Colorado home early Saturday. Four bullets struck him the head, throat, and chest, and his head was crushed with a pick handle. Miller had lived in Mexico and worked for Leroy Farmer, and he was a member of the local Elks lodge. Mrs Vivian traveled to Mexico on Monday for the funeral seal.

Barber Shop Fire Murder Attempt at Aullville
Louis Johnson, a barber in Aullville, attempted arson with gasoline early Friday morning. An ensuing explosion killed him and caused considerable damage to the shop. Johnson was about 30 years old and married.

Veteran Luke O'Rourke Dies at 107 in Missouri Home
Luke O'Rourke, a veteran of the Mexican and Civil wars and reputedly Missouri's oldest man, died Sunday at the Confederate Home at age 107. Born in Ireland, he served in Company K of the 10th Tennessee infantry and entered the home from Jefferson county in 1912.
