Death of John Erskine at family home in county
John Erskine died at the family home after a lingering illness on Monday March 5, aged 66. Born in Fayette County Ohio in April 1841 he moved to the county in 1866 and lived there since. He married Mian Millen on September 17, 1871, leaving a wife and two daughters Miss Mary of this city and Mrs A B Wright of Kansas City, plus the late son Morgan. He was a Christian and Cumberland Presbyterian Church member. Funeral services by Dr Gordon and Rev Mansfield were held at the home Tuesday at 2:90 o'clock, burial in the family lot.
