Mayview killing ends in instant death of Bruggensonann
Hugo Bruggensonann, manager of Eagle Mills Elevator in Mayview, was shot and instantly killed when mistaken for a robber. Murrell Bland likely fired from an alley as Bruggensonann moved toward the rear of Fr. W. Tappmeyer’s store, where burglar alarms had just sounded. Bland fled as the search for the robber continued. Only two pairs of shoes reported missing.

Circuit Court case ends in hung jury in Osborn suit
The February term jury trial of A. J. Huntley vs Sallie H Osborn ended Tuesday afternoon with a hung verdict. The case was moved from Clinton County on a change of venue. Judge Davis discharged the jurors and adjourned the call until March 8, with the judge returning to Marshall afterward.

Mrs Mary McCormack died Wednesday at 7:30 am at her son Owen McCormack residence 1813 Main Street after a two week illness. Born December 25 1884 on Showalter farm she was eighty one. Y M C Defeated By Concordia Athletic Club In Gym Game
The Y M C lost a hard fought basketball game Tuesday night to the Concordia Athletic Club in Concordia, 36 to 27. The game was played on a concrete garage court. No one was seriously hurt. The Y M C lineup included MacCormack, Ristine, Gordon, Howe, Beisenherz, and Hall. Dr. Payne's son was injured when a car door opened and he fell onto the pavement but his condition was not serious.
