The writer, a political prisoner with an 18 year sentence, says his wife is dead and his 15 year old daughter is in a convent school. Farmer Fends Off Bull Attack In Pasture
Thursday morning Rily Hafaker, a farmer south of town, was knocked down by a vicious bull. Cleo Hafaker helped drive the animal away. The bull then charged the son, who was slightly injured. The father, severely bruised but with no rib fracture, fought the beast with a pocket knife until it retreated.

Fishermen Headed to Crooked River for a Trip
Dr W R Hekle Charles Loomis and J B Markhall went west to Crooked River on a Monday fishing expedition. Dr Keckle stepped on a book in the trot line, drove it into his heel and the object broke off in removing it. He returned home Tuesday morning with the object extracted, and friends fear he may not walk normally again.

County Treasurer Receives State Check for Moore Case Costs

C A Goodnow, paneral manager of the C A, announced in Kansas City that bright red trains will operate daylight service between Chicago and St Louis, and Kansas City and St Louis. He said these are the two finest trains in the region and two new trains are being built to replace the red Chicago run. The change was expected July 26 but sleeping cars were delayed by Pallano Company.
