Longtime Virginia-born leader Henry Clay Creel aged 78 dies in Kansas City after nervous prostration. He served in the Virginia legislature during the Civil War era on the Confederate side, married Virginia Fackler in 1868, and leaves a widow and three sons George, Dr. R. H. B. Creel, and Wyle. Siblings include Alexander M. Cree. remembered as a reader, writer, and independent thinker who valued home and family.

Train Tragedy Near Glen Oak Claims McDonald
Coroner from Wellington came Wednesday to view the body of J. R. McDonald a railroad laborer run over by an east bound passenger train on the River Route near Glen Oak Tuesday night. He was in Lexington Tuesday and left Myrick in an intoxicated state. The body will be buried in Cordelia tonight. Frank McGowan Jr and Miss Mary Collins wed in Lexington Thursday evening with Judge Walker officiating. W V Curtis sold ten acres southeast of town to Beil and Greer for 1750 dollars. Mrs J H Campbell visited Higgsville for a few days with her mother Virginia Whiting.
