Death claims Robt A Hicklin prominent Lexington lawyer
Robert Aull Hicklin a lifelong Lexington figure and former city attorney with two terms in the Missouri legislature died at 760 Highland avenue on Christmas morning after a monthlong illness. Born January 15 1859 he was educated at Catholic schools then the University of Missouri law faculty graduating in 1878. A skilled attorney he held county and township offices and was a noted Mason Elks and Knights Templar member. He leaves a widow and son Matrice with several siblings and other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Christian church with large attendance and interment in Machpelah under Masonic rites.

Lexington High school defeated Odessa high school 60 to 20 on Tuesday night. Nigg led Lexington with 15 points while Whitsett starred for Odessa. The game featured a dominant Lexington defense and strong all around play from Morris and Thieman.

County court grants drum shop licenses in special session
The county court met in special session on Thursday to grant drum shop licenses. The sole change in Lexington was the transfer of Lon Swarts’s license to Frank Mattox, who has purchased the Swartz saloon. No licenses were issued at Napoleon or at Aullville.
