Death of Rufus Young Prominent county citizen
Rufus Young died Sunday at his home south of Lexington due to old age. Born July 2 1825 in Hawkins County Tennessee he moved to Lafayette County in 1833. He was a Democrat, active in community affairs and a Presbyterian, married February 12 1846 to Parmelin A Lankford, survived by six children including Martha Rath and Arthur P Young. Funeral for Elizabeth Gillen held at Episcopal church with Rev C T Weed officiating.
