Dr. Alferd E Rogers Baptist minister and former Lexington leader died of heart trouble in Bunceton on Monday after weeks in Cooper County tending a brother. Born 1845 in Virginia he married Mary Fiery and leaves son Hugh, Lafayette County engineer. Funeral held at Baptist church after body returned to Lexington. Also reports death of John T Bush former Lexington resident in Paso Robles California at 69 leaving wife two sons and siblings in Los Angeles.

Death of Mrs Anna Dankers in Concordia home
Mrs Anna Dankers died Wednesday at about eight o'clock at the home of her daughter-in-law Mrs Margaret Popejoy 159 Oneida street after a months long illness. Old age and general debility caused her death. Born in Berlin Germany July 18 1825 she was 91. She immigrated to the United States about thirty years ago settling in Concordia and moved to the city about ten years ago where she resided until death.

Mrs Velera McPheters Hollis dies at her son Joseph Hollis home five miles south of Waverly on January 27 1916 after a fall months earlier. Born September 6 1828 in Richmond Ohio she was 87. Survived by daughter Hannah Jane Grable Chillicothe Ohio and sons James A Joseph M and Fletcher Hollis of Waverly. Funeral Saturday at 11 oclock from the home. interment in Waverly Cemetery.

State vs Jack Arnett pled guilty to selling liquor without a license and paid a 130 dollar fine plus costs. five counts dismissed. State vs Hugo Bugling pled guilty to selling liquor to a minor, fined 150 dollars and costs. two cases dismissed at defendant costs. State vs Chas Henning and Kappleman pled guilty to selling liquor to a minor. Kappleman also fined 150 dollars and costs. two cases dismissed. George Day perjury case set for April 4. Rogers assault case continued to April 5. Wednesay William Renick sentenced to two years for a shopping block attack. Sitz trial for common assault and Gulley rape cases continued to April term. A two story frame house at the fork of the roads south of Lexington burned Wednesday night around 7 15. Occupied by two families I Childs downstairs and L W Potter upstairs. Fire started on the lower floor and with no water spread rapidly. Fire company aided in saving furnishings on the lower floor. Property owned by Laurence G Peak and partially insured.
