Miss Mary Barley left Tuesday for an extended visit with relatives in Higginsville and Lexington. Mrs. Bell Davidson of Kansas City has come to live with her mother, Mrs. Jane Barr. The birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mumphery was announced for Monday, December 5. Various residents visited Kansas City, Abilene Raumens, and Hutchinson for business and pleasure. The third number on the lecture series features the Chicago Ladies' Orchestra on December 13. The Lafayette County Teachers’ meeting drew about 34 teachers, with Dr. W. W. Charter as principal afternoon speaker. A minstrel show by ten Negro performers played to a good audience at the Auditorium.
